ICU REHAB UPDATES FOR MAY 2021

Welcome to the May 2021 monthly @ICURehab email.  I hope that everyone is adequately managing themselves and their patients through the pandemic.  Locally, things are turning the corner here (I hope!) – with some improvement in hospital/ICU admissions.  I know that things remain especially bad in many other areas, especially India and Brazil. I hope that improvement can come soon.

ICU REHAB UPDATES FOR FEBRUARY 2021

Welcome to the Feb. 2021 monthly @ICURehab email.  I hope everyone is coping through the ups and downs of the pandemic.  Locally, we are experiencing a steady decrease in incidence. My hospital now has only 1 dedicated COVID ICU, plus a few patients in other ICUs.  However, the new virus variants have recently arrived in my city and vaccine roll out is still in early stages.  Hence, things are uncertain – we still have partial lockdown conditions.  I am hoping that the pandemic can get under better control in 2021/2022 and we can have a 2020’s version of the “Roaring 1920s” that occurred after the 1918 pandemic

1.     Announcements and updates below

ICU REHAB UPDATES FOR DECEMBER 2020

Welcome to the December 2020 monthly @ICURehab email.  The pandemic remains scary (we are still having record-setting incidence in my area, with COVID ICUs and wards re-opening), but the promising results from vaccine trials may be some glimmer of hope with, of course, important issues related to availability/distribution/access and uptake, etc.  Let’s hope for a better 2021 (early New Year’s greetings to everyone)!
