The PICU-Up program is an interdisciplinary multi-component program that incorporates all the elements of the ABCDEF bundle to improve outcomes for critically ill children. As part of the program, we manage and treat pain, optimize mechanical ventilation, optimize sleep-wake cycles, prevent and treat delirium and mobilize children as soon as possible. This approach increases team and family satisfaction because of the increased ability to communicate with the children. The PICU-Up program provides e-learning modules about early mobilization and delirium screening for the multi-disciplinary team and training on barriers and facilitators.
